For the past 10 years, ASD has published our annual Funeral Director Gift Guide which features dozens of different unique items for morticians. In the beginning, the list was mostly relegated to entries from a handful of super niche websites rounded out by various coffin and hearse shaped gifts that were really meant for Halloween. With such a singular and, let’s face it, underappreciated profession, it was often difficult to find anything that was very specific to deathcare. Like a person named Bartholomew trying to locate their name keychain on one of those spinning display stands, discovering a novelty gift for funeral directors was nearly impossible. Heck, ASD had to create our own.
The year a Porti-boy shaped necklace charm appeared on Etsy, things began to change. There has been a growing trend of funeral directors creating their own side businesses—crafting distinctive items that celebrate the deathcare profession. Each year we discover a few more. It’s inspiring to see funeral directors channeling their creativity into products that let them and their peers proudly represent their field. While some of the shops cater specifically to funeral directors, others create items for a wide variety of different professions, but all of them strive to set themselves apart by selling products you would never find on a store display case.
Here are 10 Etsy Shops for Morticians You Need to Bookmark Right Now
1. Quirk and Work
Aside from having one of our favorite Etsy shop names, Quirk and Work does an exceptional job creating unique and beautiful designs to showcase the work of different professions. Their aptly named ‘Sacred Weird Work’ section features some wonderful tees and Christmas tree ornaments for funeral directors, embalmers, coroners or mortuary science students. There is a great mix of humor and heart—from the ‘Gentle Grace’ design that “honors the artistry and compassion of morticians” to the hilarious “I Saw Dead People” 2025 tree ornament. We have no doubt you’ll find something you love in this shop. There’s even a t-shirt design for someone dating a mortician.
2. For the Love of Death
This Etsy shop for morticians is exclusively dedicated to the deathcare profession and features nearly 300 different products with various funeral-related symbols and phrases. From clothing and totes to wall clocks and candles, there is a huge variety of different designs on the For The Love of Death page and you’re not likely to find many items available at other shops. We love the candle that says, “this is for you because you smell like embalming fluid” and the casket socks, though the star here are the huge number of awesome sweatshirts adorned with phrases like, I Will Embalm for Wine and Professional Deadlifter.
Creator Jeanni Bellini explains in her Etsy bio, “My mind is always full of new and creative ideas and now I want to share them with you all. I have worked in a funeral home for the past 7 years and I truly love what I do, but I might have a dark sense of humor that may come out in some of my work.”
3. CellarDoorWonders
There may not be a huge number of mortician designs available yet from the CellarDoorWonders shop, but the 14 tees that are for sale will have you swooning. The eye-catching imagery and clever phrases will stop them dead in their tracks. Our favorites include the Ask me about my dead-end job and coffin enthusiast tees. Since the page was only created four months ago, we can only hope its creator will produce even more unique designs for morticians in the future.

Ever since we first laid eyes on the beautiful Porti-Boy necklace pendants available from the TheBoutiqueBizarre, we have included it on our annual gift guide. This Etsy shop for morticians has a special place in our heart. Creator Kristin Torress Gurule was the very first Etsy creator we discovered crafting for the funeral profession. According to her bio, “My current career path as a mortician has further influenced my work and I like to make pieces that represent our line of work in a respectful way. Mortician by day, Crafter by night!” In addition to the pendants, Kristin also makes one-of-a-kind funeral diorama minis using from clay, metal, wood and resin.

We love the collection of unique mortician-inspired accessories available from the Dangercool Designs shop. From earrings and hair clips to stickers and key chains, there are so many cute little items available to help you showcase your love for deathcare. The super cool designs featuring embalming room equipment are some of the best we’ve seen. There’s also a great gift bundle of mortician gifts available so you can get a little of everything in one order.
6. Get Your Cozy On Designs
With over 1,400 products, there is a lot to explore on this shop which features a huge mix of cozy clothing designs. Use the search field on the page and type in ‘Mortician’ to browse 17 super clever Christmas & deathcare themed sweatshirts, tees and tree ornaments. The I’ll Be Home For Christmas (unless there is a body) and Fa la la la formaldehyde designs are so hilariously awesome we had a lot of trouble deciding which item from the Get Your Cozy On Design shop to put on this year’s gift guide.
7. AMEK Graphics
We love the randomness of the designs available from this Etsy shop for morticians which often combines embalmer and funeral director tools with whimsical imagery. Imagine a Porti-Boy that resembles a1940s cartoon character or Lowly Worm from Richard Scarry driving an apple-shaped hearse. The original artwork from AMEKgraphics is very unique and unlike anything else we’ve ever seen. Our only complaint? We wish there were more products and designs available, but as we all know, those that work in funeral service only have so much spare time.
8. Morguewear
If you’re a funeral director who loves vintage imagery, Morguewear is the Etsy shop for you. Featuring a range of different products such as t-shirts, drinkware, phone cases, pillows and bags, the shop uses real funeral iconography from the past. The vintage advertisements and photos give each item a sense of authenticity, grounding the designs in real pieces of funeral history. At the same time, there’s an undeniably haunting quality to these images, creating a captivating blend of nostalgia and eeriness.
9. SlightlyDisturbedShp
This one is for the antisocial mortician who just wants to embalm in the basement. The designs are humorous with a definitive “I like dead people more than the living” tone that may appeal to some more than others. Our favorite item from the Tammy Jean & Joy Designs store however has to be the mortician version of the classic Christmas tree on a vehicle image. It’s the perfect shirt to wear while decorating your chapel this year.
