As we at ASD celebrate Christmas, we wish you and your families the same joy and happiness that we experience this time of year. ASD understands that funeral directors work around the clock and aren’t able to pause and enjoy life as often as others. That’s why planning in advance for holidays is critical for our company. Christmas, New Years Day and the entire holiday season is fully staffed with back up support to ensure that you enjoy those days knowing that your phone lines will be protected.
ASD creates a special schedule for every major holiday that includes all of our employees. While our call specialists work shorter shifts, scheduling all of our operators increases the overlap of employees to guarantee the office is never short staffed. It also aligns with ASD’s all-hands-on-deck approach of the office working as a collective whole to ensure the highest quality of service for our directors.
This year, ASD answered 88 percent of all calls that rang into us on July 4th on the first ring. Our holiday stats continued to increase throughout 2011. Amazingly, more than 95 percent of all inbound calls on Thanksgiving were answered on the first ring. With responsive plans and a close eye on the upcoming schedule, we can forecast well ahead of every holiday to provide the most consistent and reliable service available.
2011 has been an exciting year here at ASD. We introduced directors to a cost-cutting Rewards Partnership Program that has saved thousands of dollars for our clients. Our Floral Rewards Program has helped directors to save money and ensure all their floral orders come from the local florist they trust. When the east coast was recovering from the devastating effects of Hurricane Irene, 44 ASD staff members camped out overnight to ensure our clients’ calls were protected. Just last week, ASD launched a new iPhone application that hundreds of funeral professionals have already downloaded and utilized to manage their ASD accounts. In 2012, we will continue to search for new and innovative ways to improve your experience with our service. In the coming months ,we plan to launch a new Android App that will bring the benefits of our iPhone app to Android users.
We are continuously inspired by our clients’ charitable efforts this time of year. From hosting a holiday memorial service for those who lost a loved one in 2011 to providing toys and food to those less fortunate, your altruistic displays of good will do not go unnoticed. This year, ASD adopted the Angel Tree Program, which benefits Children’s Choice Inc., a nonprofit agency for domestic adoption and foster children. The Angel Tree Program was created to provide children with christmas gifts who might otherwise not receive any. ASD employees donated over 50 gifts to the cause, beating their record from last year.
