Once, Twice, Three Times A Party: ASD to Host 3rd Innovation Appreciation Celebration Client Cocktail Party During the NFDA Convention
Aug 16, 2018
They say that good things come in threes and here at ASD, the old adage has certainly proven true. Our three NFDA Innovation Awards give ASD the unique distinction of being the only funeral company to win this award more than once. When ASD received our third award in 2017, we knew we had to show our thanks and appreciation to our valued clients for helping to make this possible. Your support helped us to create awareness about our S.T.O.P. System and suicide prevention.
As a Thank You to all of our clients for helping us win the 2017 NFDA Innovation Award, ASD will be hosting our 3rd Innovation Appreciation Celebration Client Cocktail Party during the 2018 NFDA Convention. The party will take place from 6-8:30p at the historic McCune Mansion (200 North Main Street, Salt Lake City). Built in 1901, the mansion offers world-class period architecture, unforgettable interior details shipped from around the world, and stunning views of the snowcapped mountains that frame Salt Lake City.
Join us for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while immersing yourself in the storied past and opulence of the early 20 th century. Located approximately 6 blocks (.6 mile) from the Convention Center, McCune Mansion is one of the grandest historical homes in America and is sure to provide the perfect backdrop for directors looking to socialize during the convention.

Established in 2009, the is given annually to a funeral service vendor whose product or service was introduced during the previous year and exemplifies creativity, innovation and excellence. This award represents the pinnacle of achievement for a funeral service vendor. While no other company has received the Innovation award more than once, ASD has now won three out of the past six years. This is certainly given us reason to celebrate!
In 2013, ASD held the first Innovation Appreciation Celebration at the NFDA Convention in Austin, TX. It was an incredible event for all in attendance. After winning the 2015 Innovation Award, the ASD team and Czachor family were eager to recapture the magic of that night. We held our 2nd Innovation Appreciation Celebration right in our backyard when the NFDA Convention was held in Philadelphia two years ago. Our clients were treated to flavorful cocktails, delicious hors d’oeuvres and 360-degree views of Philadelphia from the sky-high Pyramid Club.
This year, we wanted to give our thanks once again to our clients and the funeral service community to helping to make this achievement possible. In early May, Family-Member Owner, Kathy Kelley, and Sales Office Manager, Stephanie Bradford, traveled to Utah to scope out possible event locations for our cocktail party, visiting several sites before deciding on the McCune Mansion. This house of great antiquity embodies the magnificence and grandeur of the early 1900s, offering an event space that is truly beyond compare. We are so excited to show our appreciation to our clients by hosting a party in this historic, turn-of-the-century mansion.

“Our clients are some of the kindest, most hardworking people you will ever meet. It was important for us to show how much we appreciate their support of ASD and to provide an opportunity for everyone to come together during the NFDA Convention,” says ASD Family-Member Owner, Kathy Kelley . “This being our third Innovation Appreciation Celebration, we really wanted to find a venue that reflects an enduring commitment to excellence. Like the funeral profession, the McCune Mansion displays a deep reverence for past traditions and devotion to preserving the memories of yesterday.”
