ASD wanted to share a recent video that was posted online earlier this week by our client, Katharine Wagner-Elfner from Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home in Red Lion, PA and Wagner, Elfner & Harkins Funeral Home in Delta, PA. Katharine is well-known both inside and outside the funeral profession for creating compelling content that illuminates the oft-overlooked side to working in funeral service. With more than 100k Facebook followers, Katharine has done so much to shed light on the important work OF funeral directors and now she has extended her spotlight to include ASD staff.
In the video, Katharine explains how her funeral home relies on ASD to answer calls after hours and why having an answering service partner is so important for her funeral home team. She also gives examples of some of the unique call situations ASD Call Specialists encounter and shared kind feedback about how our staff responds to all calls with
“Funeral service isn’t always about logistics and paperwork. Sometimes it’s helping people through the darkest moments of their lives, and ASD truly understands that responsibility,” Katharine states. “So while you may not always hear one of our voices immediately after hours, please know that the person answering the phone is a real human being who is trained, compassionate, and part of our extended team here at the funeral home that helps us care for families 24/7, 365.”
The video (reshared above from the funeral home’s Facebook post) has now been viewed more than 1,000 times and received nearly 100 comments, many of which came from our staff who shared that they felt truly seen and understood in a way they hadn’t experienced before. Like the funeral directors we serve, ASD Call Specialists are so often behind the scenes, and this video helped shine a light on the compassion, professionalism, and emotional care they bring to every call.
For many of us, it meant a great deal to hear our work acknowledged so thoughtfully and publicly. The response reminded our team that the care we provide matters, and it made us feel genuinely valued, appreciated, and connected to the families and funeral homes we support every day.
Thank you so much Katharine for sharing your experience using ASD! We truly feel privileged to serve such dedicated professionals like yourself and the team at Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home.
