Apr 16, 2012
We wish all of our clients could visit our office personally to meet our sensitive staff and see our sophisticated technology. However, we realize our clients are located throughout the United States and are committed to remaining available to their community 24/7. This is why we wanted to create a two-way channel through our blog and social sites to share the latest ASD news with our clients. With the release of ASD Mobile 2.0, our new ADOPT-A-HERO project and preparations for the Order of the Golden Rule 2012 Annual Conference & Supplier Showcase underway, April has certainly been an exciting month. Read below to learn about what’s new this week, and check back next Monday for the latest Weekly News at ASD.
ASD Mobile 2.0 is a Hit!
Within 24 hours of launching the enhanced version of our powerful iPhone application, ASD Mobile 2.0 received seven 4 Star reviews on Apple. Here is one of our favorites:
“This is by far the best app on my iPhone. It’s so much more convenient than listening and writing down a First Call or a message. Thank you ASD!“-Charlie Rimmel, Henry Funeral Home in Staunton, VA.
Many of our clients who are Android users shared with us on our Facebook page their excitement for our upcoming Android app, which will duplicate the functionality of ASD Mobile 2.0 for the Android platform. We have started a list of clients that would like to be notified when the Android app is available. If you would like to be on our “Android App” list, leave a comment on this blog with your funeral home name and we’ll add you.
Check Out Our New Logo!
After over twenty years of service, we are officially retiring the butler in the ASD logo. Our new logo, which features ASD employees, was created to commemorate ASD’s 40th Anniversary.
ASD Now Proudly Supports the ADOPT-A-HERO Project
We are now collecting items to be sent in care packages to military personnel serving overseas. ASD has “adopted” four Marines to regularly send care packages filled with food, convenience items and letters from our staff. If you are in the Philadelphia area and would like to stop by to leave an item, please visit us anytime!
ASD Goes to School
ASD Supervisor Jennifer and Operations Manager Sharon attended the Delaware County Community College Job Fair. Sharon and Jen talked to potential job candidates about the opportunity to earn college tuition reimbursement while working as an ASD Call Specialist. This is a great incentive for students and really helps to boost ASD’s staff retention. The average ASD employee has been with our company for six years or longer, largely because a lot of our employees work at ASD while earning their degrees.
Congratulations Outstanding Service Award Winners!
Each week, ASD recognizes four employees with an “Outstanding Service Award.” This special recognition is given to the ASD Staff who exhibit the sensitivity and attention to detail that set ASD apart from other answering services. Here are some recent “Outstanding Service Award” winners:
â–ºCall Specialist, Jeff, determined that a caller who only wanted to leave her phone number was actually calling because her mother had just passed.
â–ºASD Assistant Supervisor, Margarita, calmly defused an upset caller who was furious his dog’s cremains had not been mailed to him.
â–ºSenior Call Specialist, Helene, patiently handled a confused caller who was looking for viewing information but had been connected to the wrong funeral home by 4-1-1.
â–ºAdvanced Call Specialist, Annette, saved a First Call for a client by convincing a distraught family member who had called from a blocked number to leave her information so the funeral director could call her right back.
