Funeral Pro Chat Podcast #9: Jayme Jeter-Cameron on Supporting Anti-Bullying Initiatives

Mar 18, 2015

ASD recently teamed up with Funeral writer and media consultant, Nancy Burban, to launch Funeral Pro Chat, an exciting new Podcast series for funeral directors. Now available on iTunes, the series features directors and experts discussing the latest funeral trends, news and customs. This month, we are proud to feature Jayme Jeter-Cameron, a licensed funeral director at Jeter Funeral Home located in Detroit and President of the National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association.

In this podcast interview, Jayme sat down with Steven C Turner to discuss anti-bullying and anti-violence initiatives and the importance of funeral directors supporting the youth in their communities. Jayme is the 68th President of the NFDMA and the youngest female to serve as president. She is also a third generation mortician at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, a family-owned funeral home located in Detriot, MI. Jayme is passionate about engaging in causes that serve the greater good of those living in her area. She is highly involved in an anti-bullying and violence movement. Later this month, Jayme will travel to Memphis for the Man Up Against Bullying’s National Youth Activist Awards on March 24th.

Listen now to hear Jayme and Steve discuss violence and bullying prevention and how funeral directors can help bring attention to this important issue.

“As funeral directors and morticians, we do not want to continue to bury our children. We feel strongly about reeducating our communities to stop the violence and the bullying that unfortunately leads to premature death of our children.”-Jayme Jeter-Cameron

Funeral Pro Chat was created to inform and enlighten funeral professionals on a range of subjects that interest them. Each podcast consists of an interview with a specially selected guest who will offer insight on a particular topic. Every month, two podcasts will be released on FuneralProChat.com. They are also available for download on iTunes.
