ASD’s Favorite Past Time Series & Funeral Home Spotlight

Jan 24, 2013

Congratulations Cook Richmond Funeral Home!

ASD would like to extend our congratulations to the family and staff at Cook Richmond Funeral Home in Bogalusa, LA on the opening of your new location in Franklinton, LA. In choosing to open a Franklinton location, Vice President and assistant manager Jamal Richmond said he and his father, Roscoe Richmond, president and manager, wanted to expand the company’s services from Bogalusa to offer people another choice for their funeral service needs. On December 30, the funeral home celebrated its Grand Opening Celebration and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. From everyone here at ASD, thank you for sharing your story with us and congratulations on this achievement. Click here to learn more.

ASD Returns to the Road

ASD is hitting the road again next week to attend the South Carolina Funeral Director’s Convention in Columbus, OH and the 2013 CANA/NFDA Cremation Symposium in Las Vegas, NV. If you’re attending the South Carolina show, be sure to stop by Booth # H2 to say hi to National Sales Manager and Licensed Funeral Director Jason Bathurst and Project Manager Lauren Kress (Pictured Right).  If you’re attending the Symposium, keep an eye out for Family-Member Owner and Treasurer Kathy Kelley and Supervisor Jen Hoban who will be exhibiting at a table. Be sure to ask about our latest features and promotions or see a LIVE demo of our ASD Mobile application. This year, ASD will be raffling off some amazing prizes and giving out some exciting new FREE gifts we think you’ll love. We hope to see you soon!

ASD’s “Favorite Past Time” Series

We received a tremendous response after we featured this photo in our e-Newsletter of Funeral Director Tom Gale at Currie Funeral Home catching a 25 lb striped bass. We would love to share more photos of funeral directors doing what they love. Next week, we will begin a “Favorite Past Time” series which will feature funeral professionals sharing their favorite past time with ASD. If you would like to be featured, send us a photo of you engaged in your favorite hobby or activity for us to share and show others what you love to do when you’re not doing outstanding work at your funeral home! Please email all photos or inquiries to jess.fowler@myASD.com. Not receiving our e-Newsletter? Click here to be added to our list.

ASD’s Sensitive Save of the Week

This week, our Call Specialist, Bill, handled a call from an elderly gentleman who was hesitant to disclose his contact information. The caller revealed that he was concerned about the future and wanted to make preplans for himself. When Bill offered to contact the director, the gentleman initially stated that he would just “call somebody else who is in.” Bill saw that the funeral director always wanted to be contacted for calls regarding Pre Arrangements and reassured the caller that he would hear back from someone as soon as they hung up, prompting the gentleman to leave his phone number. Bill is this week’s “Sensitive Save of the Week” winner!
