We understand that funeral directors work around the clock and aren't able to pause and enjoy life as often as others. That is why we provide the tools and support you need to give you one less thing to worry about during those rare days off.

ASD’s Supervision team is available 24/7, 365 days a year so if you need to create a special on-call schedule for the holiday or during a vacation, you can contact us anytime at 800-868-9950 ext 2. You can also fill out our Vacation form to give your extended on-call status. To assess our vacation form online, log on to and click ‘Forms’ in the Information section of the navigation toolbar. Select ‘Vacation’ and fax the completed form to 1-800-306-0363.

Last year on July 4th, ASD answered 99 percent of all calls by the fourth ring, and 95 percent by the first ring! This is because every major holiday, ASD creates a special schedule that includes all of our employees. While our call specialists work shorter shifts, scheduling all of our operators increases the overlap of employees to guarantee the office is never short staffed. It also aligns with ASD's all-hands-on-deck approach of the office working as a collective whole to ensure the highest quality of service for our directors.

With the ASD Mobile App, you'll never have to answer the phone during a BBQ again! We can send you the details of every message and our systems are flexible enough to allow you to respond to all urgent messages with a quick tap, giving you more time to yourself and off the phone without sacrificing the quality of service you provide to families. Stay in control of all incoming first calls with the First Call Report, which will send the owner or manager the details on all incoming first calls via text, email or push notification, even when other employees are on call. ASD’s Solicitor Shield™ Breaks New Record

Everyone hates answering their phone only to discover it is a recorded solicitation. The only thing worse is having to pay for someone to answer that annoying robo call. On an average day, ASD blocks approximately 1,700 phone calls from automated scammers using our patented Solicitor Shield™ feature. Last week, this tool became even more crucial when it blocked more than 708 of these calls in a single minute. The exact moment of the dial storm was at 5:59p on Wednesday, June 25. The calls began coming in at 5:57p, with ASD blocking 391 calls. At 5:58, ASD blocked 550 calls. At 5:59, ASD blocked 708 calls. And at 6:00p, ASD blocked 349 calls. The storm finally ended at 6:01p. Without ASD’s Solicitor Shield™ feature, events like this would tie up phone lines and prevent critical calls from getting through. By blocking robo calls, ASD is able to focus entirely on the sensitive needs of actual callers. It also helps our clients avoid being charged for calls from automated recordings.

Currently, ASD answers 90 percent of all calls by the first ring and 98 percent by the fourth ring on average. Solicitor Shield™ helps us to forecast our call volume in advance and schedule accordingly, allowing ASD's Call Specialists to answer calls at a faster rate than other call centers. ASD is teaming up with Funeral writer and media consultant, Nancy Burban, and 30-year news media veteran, Steven Turner, to launch an exciting new Podcast series for funeral professionals, FuneralProChat. The series will feature directors and experts discussing the latest funeral trends, news and customs. The goal of FuneralProChat is to inform and enlighten funeral professionals on a range of subjects that interest them.
